Cameron Wehr

Cameron is a senior from the USA studying Social Research and Public Policy with a minor in Computer Science. He loves studying language, gender, and technology, and how exactly we can create more representative and diverse tech. He loves to hang out with friends over mate and talk about life. He also plays violin and viola, and likes listening to Brazilian samba music.

Sanzad Hossain

Sanzad is a Bangladeshi sophomore majoring in Economics. He is most passionate about solving problems that people don't really care about, for example, waste management in which he has been working for the last four years. Apart from that, he likes to brainstorm new ideas to have a sustainable society. Fun Fact: He has 4 different names and everyone in his family calls him by separate names.

Joshua Sng

Joshua is a Singaporean Senior studying Global Affairs. While in primary school, he started a 'company' that was in the business of producing and selling easer dust, even briefly explored a merger with his cousin that was in a similar line - needless to say, he was not too successful then. He can now be found swimming about the startup ecosystem, excited to see how strategic capital allocation, tech innovation, and businesses can make a lasting social impact within their communities. He also enjoys meeting new people to find out their why's, watching Conan O'Brien & The Office, and discussing matters of spirituality.

Linh Phuong Nguyen

Linh is a freshman from Vietnam majoring in Business, Organization, and Society. Her mantra: Eat, play, love. Her hometown: Hanoi (drop-dead gorgeous, a harmonious combination of historicity and modernity; nothing is better than strolling in Hanoi's chilly autumn weather with a cup of warm coffee in hand, if you come to Hanoi, ping her, she's more than ready to be your tour guide). She loves cats and kids (but not much raising them, she trusts them all to her Mom). She is unafraid of new experiences and makes spontaneous "out-of-nowhere" (unique, in unknown areas) decisions.

Pauline is a Chinese-Filipino sophomore majoring in Computer Science. She is passionate about design, emerging technology, the humanities, the future of the world, and how everything is connected! She also loves digital illustration, science fiction, Studio Ghibli, and fruit. Fun fact: She crochets!

Rocell Trinidad

Rocell is a freshman from the Philippines studying Engineering! She is passionate about discussing anything that has an unspoken truth to it. She likes to get to the very end of things which is why she often finds herself in deep conversations although neither of both parties has thorough knowledge; just their emotions and thoughts tangled together. A fun fact about her is that she searches for the meanings of the things that she finds frustrating and that in turn would ease the sentiment.

Mira Saleh

Mira is an Egyptian sophomore studying Computer Science. She is passionate about global health, equal rights issues, and crime and justice. A fun fact about her is that ever since she was a kid, she dreamt about becoming Sherlock Holmes and another weird fact is that fish make her anxious.

Yaghyesh Ghimire

Sonya Trifonova

Sonya is a freshman from Russia thinking about studying Economics with a minor in Arabic and possibly Legal Studies. She loves economics and the way it connects with other studies: law, politics, urbanistic, psychology, and even linguistics! She also enjoys bringing order to things; She is not someone who would likely start a project but she is definitely someone who can upscale and improve it. Fun fact about her? Well, She always hated heat. Yes, tough time adapting to Abu Dhabi climate, but she is doing her best to get used to it!

Raya Tabassum

Raya is a Bangladeshi sophomore studying Interactive Media and Computer Science. She is very passionate about mental health awareness, feminism, and reproductive rights. Fun fact: She likes reading plot description of movies in wikipedia even before watching them.

Magdalena Alicja Bąk

Magdalena is a junior from Poland majoring in Bioengineering. She is interested in biotech and medicine. She has been part of Women Empowered in STEM (weSTEM) since her first semester at NYUAD. She is passionate about creating inclusive and comfortable spaces for womxn interested in the STEM fields. She likes running, traveling, and hiking. When she is not studying, you can find her doing distressing runs on the indoor track. A fun fact about here is that she's been a vegetarian for over five years.

Arya Kanade

Her name is Arya, and she is a sophomore studying Political Science and Film and New Media. As someone who is Indian but grew up in Qatar, she has always been surrounded by reports of issues related to migrant worker rights in Qatar, particularly for the construction of structures for FIFA 2022. Due to this, she has found passion in raising awareness for migrant worker rights, and she is also interested in pursuing immigration law. she loves watching and making hilariously bad films. Fun fact about her: she is lactose intolerant but cannot go a day without drinking the Almarai double chocolate milk!

Mohammad Abdullah Ahmed

He is a sophomore from Pakistan and the United States of America studying Economics. He loves listening to music and he can never resist petting a cat when he sees one.

Morenikeji Adedayo

Keji is a Nigerian junior studying Biology. She is passionate about public health, graphic design, and data science, most especially in projects that can be created using the intersection of those fields. She enjoys cooking and binging series in her free time. Fun fact: She loves the smell of donuts.

Mariam Abdelfattah 

Mariam is an Egyptian freshman planning to major in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. She is passionate about creating an impact and leaving her own unique fingerprint in this world to always be remembered as someone who created a change. Fun fact about her is that I have a fraternal twin sister, her father has an identical twin, and her mother has a fraternal twin too. We are basically a twin family.

Maram Abdelfattah

Maram is an Egyptian freshman studying Electrical Engineering. She loves meeting new people and working with them, listening to their stories, and learning from their experiences! She is super interested in photography and would love to learn some new tips and tricks (if you'd like to share)

Sarah Farhat

Sarah is a sophomore from the US studying Business studies and Computer Science. Her passion revolves around working to improve living conditions in developing nations and foster a sense of belonging. Not only does this give hope to these communities but also serves her purpose of having the opportunity to help those in need. A fun fact about her is she loves traveling and meeting new people abroad!

Chamindu Dakshina Don Baddewithana

Chamindu is a sophomore from Sri Lanka studying Economics and Applied Mathematics. His passion is to work towards promoting equality in opportunities between holders of "privileged" passports and holders of "not so privileged" passports. i.e, he wants to establish a system where everyone will be treated equally without any pre-judgment based on their nationality.

A fun fact about him is that he loves traveling. He has traveled to 15 countries so far this year and it is his goal to be the first Sri Lankan passport holder to travel to all countries before he turns 30.

Naz is a Turkish sophomore studying Computer Engineering. A fun fact about her is that she is very interested in different languages, and loves to learn them. She always thought learning new languages helped her expand her ability to perceive the world.

Dilnaz Utemissova is a sophomore from Kazakhstan majoring in Biology. She is interested in doing research in neuroscience and stem cells. She is also interested in community service and volunteering opportunities. In her free time, she loves having brunch with her friends, listening to music and dancing. Fun fact: Dilnaz took a j-term course in Florence and really enjoyed the city and her time there!

Muhammad Musa Khan

Muhammad is a freshman from Pakistan majoring in Computer Science. He is passionate about improving himself in a wide variety of things and developing his ability to articulate exactly what he wishes to say. He loves Islamic Poetry (love Allama Iqbal's Jawab-e-Shikwa) and loves to research early Islamic History (and historical events in general), and he is trying to figure out what it means to be a Muslim, especially in the 21st century. He loves learning languages, and he is hoping to graduate with advanced fluency in at least two of the three languages, Arabic, Russian, and Spanish. It's going to be a lot of work. He loves playing sports; at the moment, he plays Volleyball and Table Tennis, and you'll also find him in the Baraha playing Billiards often. But he also wants to try the rest of the sports played here in NYUAD, namely Basketball, Football, Tennis, and Squash (he is also hoping he can get back into Badminton - after an eight-year-hiatus). He is also learning Photography. And he tries to spend every weekend off-campus doing something new. So, in other words, he is always looking to try out new things.

Sonia is a rising senior from Romania, majoring in Social Research and Public Policy, with minors in Economics and Psychology. She is passionate about inequality, human rights, activism, social work, and social change. She aspires to become a policymaker and work towards improving the quality of economic and social systems. Her dream is to move to New York and work on humanitarian projects that will contribute to the well-being of many other vulnerable populations around the world.

Linsha is eternally inquisitive about “why we humans are the way we are?. Most importantly she is curious about “why am I the way I am”. So naturally, her interest lies in psychology, and especially fascinated by topics of behavioral change. She believes aligning our public policies, economics, technology, etc.. with human tendencies (with right intent) can bring about positive change in the world. Hence she is hoping to further her career in the behavioral economics / social psychology realm. Fun fact about her is that she loves old rusty buildings with architectural details.

QM Naushadul Islam

QM is a Bangladeshi sophomore studying Interactive Media. His passions are Film, fiction, food, football, and felines. Fun fact: His parents had to shorten the first two words in his name to 'QM' because his original name had too many characters for his kindergarten's software to hold. Now 'QM' is his official first name.

Syed Mustafa Bin Aqeel

The world is in dire need of a new world order governed not by nation-states but by the presence of a mutually beneficial system. The movement that has bound capitalism with democracy leads to peace as one extreme and socialism with a monarchy that leads to chaos as the other extreme has blinded the current world. In an effort to change the world from scratch the first step to effectively alter the world is through altruism. Syed Mustafa loves conversations about the details of how even the most minute things can change the world and enjoy talking about interesting movies.
