hat is it?

From Animal Welfare to Extreme Poverty and from Engineered Change to Global Catastrophic Risks, there are numerous large-scale and far-reaching global issues that plague humanity. But many well-intended initiatives to tackle them are ineffective, and sometimes even counterproductive.

So, how do we actually do the most good?

Every semester, a select cohort of intellectually motivated students join us for a 9 week Arete Fellowship, where you will learn how to maximize their positive impact to tackle the biggest issues humanity faces today.

Through weekly readings, discussions, team-building events, socials, and research, the prestigious program introduces fellows to the analytical toolkit to maximize their future impact and to do good most effectively in the world.

The fellowship is open to undergraduate and graduate students from NYUAD and universities worldwide, from all majors and disciplines.

As an Arete Fellow, you will join a global community of scholars from Oxford, Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Brown and many renowned institutions around the world for networking, research, and entrepreneurship opportunities.
